The Groundbreaking

This past Sunday, we had groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the new connector. It was a fitting way to start a process that is not about a building, but about enhancing the prospects of making disciples, by providing an open door to the community and by giving better access to those who struggle with transitioning between our floors.

Our time started with an introduction by Pastor Harry Walls, followed by an introduction of guests and leaders by Gary Kennedy.  Steve Meeks read the prayer from Nehemiah 1, which was followed by prayer by Pastor Harry.  Several people took place in ceremonial groundbreaking, including:
  • Chuck Andrews
  • Pastor Harry Walls
  • Peggy Vigneulle, wife of Pastor Dick Vigneulle, our late founding pastor
  • Nicholas Kuhn, representing the children
  • Gary Kennedy, Administrative Pastor
  • Jeff McIlwain, from JohnsonKreis, the construction company
  • Chris Callahan, chairman of the building committee
  • Dwayne Timothy, the architect for the project, from CTSM
If you missed it, here it is in pictures:
